The Real Rick Ross, former L.A. drug kingpin, has finally filed a $10 million infringement lawsuit against the popular rapper. In L.A. federal district court last week, Ross’s attorney Melvin Sharpe Jr. filed the lawsuit which cites the Miami-based rapper of unlawfully profiting off of the name Rick Ross. Also cited for copyright infringement is Def Jam, Jay-Z, L.A. Ried, Maybach Music, Slip-n-Slide Records, Universal Music Group, to name a few. The awfully long lawsuit documents basically sums up why the rapper Rick Ross and his music counterparts should 1) not release his upcoming album “Teflon Don”, 2) pay him over 50% of gross royalties and other damages totaling approximately $10 million. WOW! Judge Percy Anderson has summoned Rick Ross and the other defendants. If the case isn’t dismissed or a settlement isn’t reached in 20 days, all the defendants will have to meet up face-to-face with the Real Rick Ross in a trial hearing.
