The higher they are, the sexier they look. However, if comfort is what you are going for, this is not the shoe. You may get a little more comfort out of the “hybrid” platform stiletto: a hidden platform in the top part of the shoe, with a super-tall stiletto. Balenciaga, Chado Ralph Rucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and DSquared2 are just a few designers of the elegant, and sexy stiletto.
Never fear, the return of the stiletto will in no way stifle those thick and chunky heels we’ve just invested in – that have dominated the past few seasons. Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Chanel are major design houses that make the most of the Platforms that are much better to walk in.
Tapered heels on the other hand offer a different spin starting thick and tapering down into a stiletto-esque point. You can find them by designers such as Burberry Prorsum, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Zac Posen. While the tapered heel is sexy, interesting and modern, I would only buy them if I intend to get a lot of wear out of them.
