Brett Favre Makes a Move admin Wednesday, July 16, 2008 The Game (Source) After much hoopla, finally some sort of decision has been made concerning the NFL’s all-time passing leader, Brett Favre. After announcing his retirement back in March, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback recently expressed his desire to return to the field, but the Packers have been reluctant to welcome him back. During the offseason, The Packers have aggressively been preparing Aaron Rodgers and committed to him starting as quarterback. After sitting in Favre’s shadow, Rodgers feels it’s his time to shine. Although the Packers have stated that Favre is free to return for another season, there’s no guarantee that things will return to normal with him as the starting quarterback. As a result, Favre then asked to be released from the Packers so that he could sign with another team. The Packers, not surprisingly though, didn’t second his motion of becoming a free agent. So now the big question is what will Favre do now? Well according to Favre’s agent, absolutely nothing….for now! If Brett Favre is really going to force a showdown with the Green Bay Packers, it won’t happen right away, his agent told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. “We have no definite plans to ask for reinstatement,” Favre’s agent, James “Bus” Cook, said of the former Packers quarterback, who has asked the team for his release. “Right now we have until the sixth week [of the regular season] and Brett hasmade it pretty clear that he is not willing to come in as a backup. “If he asks for reinstatement and they start fining him $15,000 a day [for not reporting to training camp], well that just doesn’t make sense,” Cook said. “We’re going to let Green Bay decide what they want to do. It’s their move.” (Source) Ole Brett Favre has made his move and pulled a Luda saying to the Packers…When I move you move! Oh go ahead and say it…Just like that!
