Broadway Ups The Aisle admin Thursday, August 14, 2008 The Script I guess with the recession, businesses are looking closer at their revenue and coming up with new ways to earn extra cash. In New York, the NY Post reports that Jujamcyn Theaters (the third largest landlord on Broadway) has added $17 to $25 to their aisle seat prices. Jujamcyn has implemented the new strategy on several plays like “Gyspy”, “Spring Awakening”, and the upcoming “The Seagull”. The reason for the increase Jujamcyn says their “pricing to value and demand – two on the aisle is what so many theatergoers want.” But according to some ticket brokers, Jujamcyn is “looking to find every which way to bring in more revenue before the whole market collapses.” (Source)(Photo Source)
