Music Pioneer Dies at 65 admin Sunday, August 10, 2008 The Script, The Studio (Photo Source) Another industry great, Issac Hayes, was found dead at his home in Memphis, Tennessee on Sunday. The family member says he was unresponsive while lying beside a treadmill in his home. After being rushed to Baptist East Hospital, he was pronounced dead an hour later. The cause of death is still unknown. Singer/songwriter/actor Issac Hayes was the pioneer of early disco music and urban contemporary music. He’s won an Academy Award and several Grammy’s. He’s best noted for his theme song in the movie Shaft. Issac Hayes also played the voice of the ‘Chef’ in the cartoon television series, SouthPark. Hayes was also to appear alongside Bernie Mac (recently deceased) in the new movie, Soul Men. Check out our coverage of the movie, here.
