The Reality of a Personal Assistant admin Tuesday, August 5, 2008 The Script VH1 premiered two new reality shows Monday night: “I Want to Work for Diddy” and “New York Goes to Hollywood”. Although each show engaged viewers with the key elements of a hit reality tv show – humor, crazy people, and confrontation, the shows’ main character(s) also shared a common goal…to find a personal assistant. On “I Want to Work for Diddy”, Sean Combs assigned several of his Bad Boy executives to the task of finding him a personal assistant. The 12 hopefuls were given 50 tasks to complete in a 24-hour time period with only $2,000 to spend. In true Diddy fashion, the contestants ran through the streets of New York on their quest to become Diddy’s personal assistant. Who will win in the end? Who knows! VH1 TV Shows Music Videos Celebrity Photos News & Gossip From the looks of it, if you wish to become a celebrity’s personal assistant, it’ll be best that you have: 1. Tough skin! If you are sensitive and weak, you probably won’t last on the job for more than a week. 2. A “can do” spirit! No matter what the job requires, you must be wiling to do what it takes to get the job done. 3. Knowledge of the industry and/or have experience in administrative work. 4. No desire to be the Boss! Too many people make the mistake of not allowing authority to be authority. You can’t go into a workplace and tell the boss what to do. Someone has to have control and in this situation it wouldn’t be you. So know your place, your position, stay humble and just do your job.
