Mermaids' "topless" lawsuit against Diddy dropped by Judge admin Thursday, September 25, 2008 The Studio (Pic Source) A real-life mermaid sued Sean “P. Diddy” Combs for $3 million!! No, we’re kidding. LOL But a real woman did have a $3 million suit against Diddy and Vibe magazine. Maria Dominguez, 28, claimed in court that her privacy rights were violated when her picture was printed in Vibe’s November 2006 issue. The picture taken at a Diddy party back in 2003, showed her and two other women in a pool with mermaid costumes on. Of course, mermaid’s go “topless”. So Vibe played off of that and ran the picture in the magazine with the title “Mermaids Gone Wild”. Of which, Dominguez says she didn’t permit photographers to take the picture nor gave Vibe permission to use it in their publication. Although Dominguez says she has suffered mental anguish and a tarnished reputation, attorneys for Diddy argued that “If you go to a party that has great public interest, and you see many, many photographers there taking many, many pictures – and you’re scantily clad – odds are your picture will be taken.” Dominguez’s case held no merit and was thrown out by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Doris Ling-Cohan.
