Russell Simmons

STACKS Magazine was on the red carpet Monday night at Russell Simmons’ Birthday Celebration and the official launch party for Global Grind. The event was held at Tongue & Groove in Atlanta. Now either everybody loves Russell or were just very well aware of the fact that he knows how to throw a party and will definitely bring the stars out. Several celebrities came out to support Russell and Global Grind including Outkast’s Big Boi, Goodie Mob’s Bigg Gipp, singers Case, Montel Jordan and Ann Nesby, former Source editor Kim Osorio, producer Diamond D and of course as always you know the night can’t go by without at least one or two of the FOL chicks hitting the scene. Talk about riding on your 15 minutes of fame. Also, up and coming R&B artist Dynasty was also in the house.

Here’s a little of the
he say, she say that was heard on the red carpet:

For those of you that have been wondering, Big Gipp made it very clear that Goodie Mob was headed back to the studio and that fans can expect an album from them this year. What’s taken so long? Well according to Gipp they’ve “just been waiting for C-Lo to finish up some stuff with Gnarls Barkley.”

Singer Montel Jordan said he is set to release his next album “Let it Rain” which will be in stores October 21.

Former Editor-in-Chief of Source Magazine Kim Osario recently released her tell-all memoir ‘Straight from the Source: An Expose from the Former Editor in Chief of the Hip-Hop Bible’. In the book, she talks about her years at the Bible of Hip-Hop, industry double standards, and gives blow-by-blow details of how and why the magazine ended up going bankrupt.
