The Grammy’s of the gospel industry better known as the Stellar Awards recently announced this year’s nominees. This year’s list includes artist from all genres of gospel music.

Traditional gospel singer, Marvin Sapp leads the way with nine nominations in categories such as “Song of the Year”, “Artist of the Year”, and “Male Vocalist of the Year”. Sapp is followed by Kirk Franklin and Dorinda Clark-Cole with five nominations each. CeCe Winans, Canton Jones, Ricky Dillard, Israel & New Breed tied with four nominations each.

Vickie Winans will receive this year’s “Most Notable Achievement Award” and Daryl Coley is set to be honored with the “James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award”.

The 24th Annual Stellar Awards will take place on January 17, 2009 at the historic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee for the 4th consecutive year. This year’s host is comedian Sinbad. Other co-hosts will be announced at a later date.
