In the last few years, we’ve seen females like “Supahead”, the former editor-in-chief of the Source Magazine, and even a legendary female rapper all publish tell-all books. Well it looks like our fellas are stepping into the tell-all genre and are too being welcomed by a bit of backlash.

Bruce Williams, hip-hop producer and former assistant of Dr. Dre, released a quite positive expose’ entitled Rollin With Dre: The Unauthorized Account: An Insider’s Tale of the Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of West Coast Hip Hop. The book details his life working with the legendary Dr. Dre. Since the book goes into details about Dre’s personal and professional life, it is believed that this is the reason for the recent lawsuit against Williams.

TMZ.com reports that Dr. Dre slapped a $101,377 lawsuit against Williams for an alleged unpaid loan. In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Williams claims he’s baffled as to why Dre served him this lawsuit. Being that the book was just released two weeks ago, he thinks the book may have something to do with it.

“I don’t really know the whole details and everything behind it,” he continued. “I’m getting ‘em from my lawyer. There’s only certain things that I can say. But I guess [Dre] says I owed him a $100,000 or something, for a loan or whatever. I never got a $100,000 loan from Dre. From what I’m gathering, this is [allegedly for loans made] over the course of all the 17 years that I worked with him. I can’t say no more than that, man. But we can play it out and see how it come out in the end.”
