Four years after her death, Isabel Sanford aka Louise “Weezy” Jefferson is still moving on up…this time to the Northwest side of the ATL.

In honor of her memory, Sanford’s son, Sanford K. Sanford, has opened a restaurant named “Weezy’s Movin On Up Cafe Jazz & BBQ”. Live bands will be featured nightly ranging from Jazz to R&B to Blues, with open mic nights as well.

The Emmy Award winning actress was most known for her role as Louise “Weezy” Jefferson on the CBS television sitcom “The Jeffersons (1975–1985). She was the first black actress to win a Lead Actress Emmy Award (for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1981), and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
