Next on Tyrese Gibson’s list of business ventures is the world of comic books. This summer, Gibson, partnered with Image Comics, will debut his new superhero limited series “Mayhem”. In an official press release, Gibson describes “Mayhem” as “a gritty, dynamic story about a Masked vigilante who dares to clean up his home city of Los Angeles by taking on, Big X, the crime lord who holds several dark secrets.” Why comics you ask? Well according to Gibson, his inspiration came from a promotional visit to Comic-Con International in San Diego. Gibson says, “I have always been open minded to new things. I’m no comic book veteran, but when I went to Comic-Con to promote ‘Death Race,’ that energy out there really did something to me. I had no idea…So that’s when I decided I wanted to not only be a part of this world, but I wanna create something that I know the die hard comic book followers out there would appreciate”. From the sounds of things, Gibson is really excited and quite passionate about his new project. So whether you’re thumbs down to this or thinking about picking up a copy once it hits the stands, consider yourself officially warned because Robert Kirkman, one of the partners at Image Comics, says, “Ready or not, Tyrese Gibson is in the house–and it’s going to be MAYHEM!“ Peep the debut cover!
