"We Are the World" for Haiti admin Friday, January 22, 2010 The Studio In the wake of all that’s going on in Haiti and in honor of the earthquake victims, producer Quincy Jones and singer Lionel Richie are teaming up to bring back a special 25th anniversary edition of the classic charity song “We are the World”. Talents from all genres will join the two in Los Angeles on Feb. 1 to record a new version. According to Billboard, the artists that have been invited to participate include Natalie Cole, Usher, and John Legend as well as all of this year’s Grammy nominees and participants. Billboard also says not to be surprised if Wyclef Jean, Sting, Fergie, Alicia Keys, and Justin Timberlake join in. The song’s co-author, the late Michael Jackson will also be included. Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich will produce the song and like the 1985 version, the new version will be turned into a single and video. Here’s the video of the 1985 version.
