Foul on the Play: Jayson Williams Sentenced admin Wednesday, February 24, 2010 Foul on the Play, The Game After being found guilty of aggravated assault, former NBA star Jayson Williams has been sentenced to five years in prison, but will be eligible for parole in 18 months. Williams’ charges stem from a 2002 incident in which Williams fatally shot his limo driver, Costas Christofi. Williams originally went to trial in 2004 which resulted in an acquittal of aggravated manslaughter, a conviction on four counts of covering up the shooting and a deadlocked jury on a reckless manslaughter count. Last month, in an effort to avoid a retrial, Williams pled guilty to aggravated assault in the death of Christofi. (Pic)
