CNN Money give us the inside scoop to purchasing second-hand luxury timepeices. Peep video:

For the fellas who collect great timepeices, you’ll be happy to know that you can get a great deal when you buy a vintage watch. Most second-hand watches are 50 to 90 percent cheaper than a brand new watch. So for your wallets, there is nothing wrong with rocking a per-owned watch.

5 tips to remember when you buy your next timepeice are…

1. Find a watch that you like. Do not buy a watch that you have regrets on after the purchase.

2. Buy a brand that is of quality.

3. Make sure your watch has the original certificate and service papers. If it doesn’t, that watch unfortunately may not be a collectors item or an actual vintage timepeice.

4. Make sure there’s no scratches, dents, etc on the watch. You want to buy a watch that is like brand new.

5. Ask for help on the internet if all else fails. If you aren’t sure what brand or level of quality the watch is, dont be afraid to ask someone in a chat room, forum, social network. There is someone out there that has the knowledge and will be willing to help you with your search.
