Based on the 1975 play written by Ntosake Shange, For Colored Girls, will debut on the big screen on Nov. 5.  Produced and directed by Tyler Perry, the story line focuses on a series of poems spoken by women of color who’s lives have endured challenges such as abortion, abandonment, rape, and love.

The cast consists of Janet Jacskon, Omari Hardwick, Loretta Devine, Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose, Michael Ealy, Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Phylicia Rashad, Macy Gray, Tessa Thompson, Hill Harper, Khalil Kain, and Richard Lawson.
