After winning their 89th consecutive game, surpassing the 88-game winning streak record of the 1971-1974 U.C.L.A. men’s basketball team and even going on to win 90, the ladies of UConn’s winning streak has been brought to a halt by the ladies of Stanford. Stanford shut the Huskies down in a 71-51 win Thursday night at home in the Maples Pavilion where for the last 52 games they have been unbeatable.  

 Never trailing behind, the Cardinals got an early jump on the Huskies gaining a quick 13-point lead and never looked back. “It’s a huge win, but it is December”, said Stanford forward, Kayla Pederson, “This instills confidence that we can beat any team.”
