One way to tell if the economy is back on track or NOT…go to your local grocery store. According to the Wallstreet Journal, a recent report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture lists the state of Texas as the top dog in food stamp use. The national survey, which reports stats up to November 2010, says that people who put in requests to receive food stamps sky-rocketed up to 14. 2% in one year.

Even though Texas is at the top in 2010, other states such as New Mexico and Idaho earned the highest ranking in states where people put in requests and received food stamps over the span of a year. The top 10 ranking states for stamp usage are as follows:

1. Texas

2. California

3. Florida

4. New York

5. Michigan

6. Georiga

7. Illinois

8. Pennsylvania

9. North Carolina

10. Tennessee
