Foul on the Play: Andrew Bynum’s Flagrant Foul + Suspension janda Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Foul on the Play, The Game As if the Los Angles Lakers getting swept by the Dallas Mavericks wasn’t bad enough, the frustration outwardly displayed by some of the Lakers’ players only added injury to the insult. First Lakers forward Lamar Odom was ejected for belting out some rather brutal words and shooting a few elbows at Maverick forward Dirk Nowitzki. But to put the cherry on top, Lakers center Andrew Bynum committed a definite “foul on the play” with a move that no matter how you look at can only be deemed as just low down and dirty. As the 4th quarter was nearing an end, Bynum dropped a vicious elbow right into the rib cage of Maverick guard J.J Barea as he drove to the basket sending him to the floor. Bynum was immediately ejected from the game for the flagrant foul and in a taste of pure classlessness ripped off his jersey while storming off to the locker room. As a result of Bynum’s obvious FOUL ON THE PLAY, he was fined $25,000 for his Hulk of a jersey display and suspended for the first five games of next season. While yes he was wrong and got what he deserved, Bynum has expressed remorse for his action of poor sportsmanship calling his actions both “terrible” and “unacceptable”. #weagree In case you missed it, check out the clip below to see Bynum’s “Foul on the Play” Any thoughts????
