NFL baller Plaxico Burress, is set to be released from Oneida Correctional Facility on Monday, June 6. The 30-year old quarterback was sentenced to 20 months in jail after being charged for illegally carrying and firing a handgun in a Manhattan nightclub. Next week, he’s officially a free man. But, what does this mean for his football career? Will he return to the NY Giants? Good friend and former teammate, Brandon Jacobs, says he doesn’t believe Burress wants to return to the Giants. “No, he ain’t coming to the Giants,” Jacobs said Thursday, according to The Star-Ledger. “That’s out of the question. He’s got options, and it’s good he can weigh his options. I would love him to be a part of the Giants, but I don’t think that’s even on his plate.” That doesn’t really matter though. It has been said that at least eight (8) NFL teams got their eyes set on signing Burress once the lockout is over. Burress who has set careers highs in passing touchdowns, passing yards, rushing touchdowns, etc. is definitely a “catch” for any NFL team. Let’s hope and pray that he’s grown from his past mistakes and is ready to lead a more positive role in football.
