Since VH1’s reality show “Love & Hip Hop” proved to be a hit amongst viewers, the franchise has plotted its course and is now headed to the Black Mecca of the South, Atlanta.

Atlanta is known to be the “go-to” city when it comes to music.  But, with so many artists to chose from, the million dollar question has been “who will be on the show?”  In the past few weeks, it has been rumored that rapper Rasheeda, producer Stevie J, Lil Scrappy (and his momma), and former Crime Mob member Diamond will take part in the show.  Not knowing too much about Rasheeda’s life and Stevie J’s (except for his former relationship with Eve), Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta don’t seem to have much drama to unfold.  The only “action” that could potentially blast off would be between everybody’s favorite hood couple, Lil Scrappy and Diamond.  Unfortunately, their relationship ended a while back. Plus, word on the street is that Diamond has forfieted her spot on the show.

Damn, I was looking forward to seeing Diamond do her thing.

During a recent interview, Diamond revealed why we wont be seeing her pretty little face on the 2nd season of LAHH.  Check out the audio:

While Diamond mentioned that she’d not even begun filming episodes, she did point out that the rumors of her not joining the cast due to potential conflict with Scrappy and his mom was not her main reason for deciding to opt out.

“Well I’m not sure who all is on the show, but I just know that right now I’ve been focused on my album and just being surrounded around positive things and positive people, and I just can’t play with my career like that. Me being an artist in the middle of my career, you never know how TV can go. It can go good or it can go bad, and I just choose not to gamble with my career like that, you know.”

“Actually I prayed about it ’cause I was going back and forth about it, and something just didn’t sit right for me to go down that particular path right now. I’m not saying that I won’t do reality television somewhere down the line, but as of now, I just feel like my music is my foundation, and that’s what people want to hear from me. Me and my life through my music, not reality television.”

Sounds reasonable to me.  Instead of chasing after a check, sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture for what it is worth. Reality tv can make you or break you.  I think Diamond made the right decision.
