Allyson Felix can finally say that her twice denied victory of an Olympic gold medal in the 200 meters was simply a delay. It was her time! In 21.88 seconds, Felix closed out the 100 meter champ Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce by .21 seconds sealing the deal on the moment she’d been waiting for.

 

Her win also denied the woman who defeated Felix in both the Athens and Beijing Games of a 3-peat, Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown. Carmelita Jeter who won silver in the 100 meters came in third adding a bronze to the USA’s medal count.
