As far as the African-American community goes, many women stopped tuning into the popular dating show after the first few seasons.  ABC, for some strange discriminatory reason, refused to enlist a black male or woman as the star whose in search of their soulmate.  In addition, the one or two blacks that were sprinkled in as contestants, never made it pass the first eliminations. It was sort of reminiscent of the only black character in a scary movie that always get killed. You get my point??!!

Well it seems as though ABC has had a wake up call.  This season, they’ve enlisted a caucasian male Sean Lowe who doesn’t mind dating outside of his race.  Therefore, in season 17, you will see several beautiful African-American females vying for his attention. Robyn Howard (pictured above) was one of the lucky ones to make it past the first round with a rose during the season’s premiere. Robyn is from Houston, Texas and works as an Oilfield Account Manager.  Alongside her were two other sistas who got a rose…Brooke Burchette (Community Organizer from Pittsburgh, PA) and Leslie A. Hughes (Poker Dealer from Rukins, FL).
