It will be on the minds of many listeners for quite some time. Adrian Marcel, the Grammy award winning/Bay area singer, is the newest cat to gain buzz in the R&B music game. His latest mixtape 7 Days of Weak is filled with original songs (with minor sampling) that showcases his ability to keep it hip hop, cool, sensual, and eclectic …all at the same damn time. Backed by the legendary Raphael Saadiq, Adrian has that style reminiscent of the Tony! Toni! Tone’! singer and flavor that sounds like the after-party to Lucy Pearl’s classic CD. Adrian is mixed (not sure of what ethnicities), but stands out from any Miguel comparisons. His sound is what is missing. The production choices are contains the right mixture of hip hop, jazz, and classic R&B, that with Adrian’s vocals, captivate the ears quickly.
