Who doesn’t prefer to sit in the comfort of their own home to watch a movie? Also, homes are now equipped with their very own “movie rooms”. These rooms are decked out with leather recliners, big projector screens, dimmed lights, etc. If families prefer to stay home rather than spend over $100 at the local theater, what can cinema companies do to keep us patronizing their businesses? Well, Regal Cinemas has got the message and is implementing new luxury amenities at their facilities. With luxury theaters in California and Colorado, the city of Alpharetta (GA) will be next up to receive a new theater. The new theater will be located near GA 400, on the outskirts of Atlanta. The Regal Avalon Stadium 12 x RPX wil feature leather recliners and dining tables, a restaurant-style menu along with standard movie snacks, and an intimate lounge style lobby/entry area. Wall-to-wall screens will feature the lastest in digital technology. The Alpharetta location will open in 2014. In addition, Atlanta will also get theater renovations in the Atlantic Station location. This is probably because Atlanta’s hosts several major movie red carpet premieres at that particular facility. So, it’s only right to upgrade the theater accordingly and give the “stars” a high-end feel to the movie-going experience.
