Can he pull it off? Not sure, but we soon shall see. “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” is a movie about the life of the renowned South Africa leader Nelson Mandela. Idris Elba will star as Mandela and take viewers on a journey through very important political and personal moments of the leader’s life. The film is directed by Justin Chadwick and produced by The Weinstein Co. Recently, the Weinstein Co. previewed the trailer during the Nelson Mandela International Day celebration. The private screening was for the United Nations General Assembly. Several notable political figures in attendance were U.N. General Assembly President, John William Ashe; U.S. former president Bill Clinton, actor/activist Harry Belafonte; Reverend Jesse Jackson; Secretary General of the U.N., Ban ki-moon, and many others. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 29.
