Winfrey and Whitaker play husband and wife as Mr. & Mrs. Gaines who are attempting to teach their son about respect, breaking down barriers and legendary actor Mr. Sidney Poitier. Whitaker character Mr. Gaines served as butler for several U.S presidents across decades. The movie is unofficially said to already be a prospect for nominations for several awards, however, the movie title has caused a law dispute between Warner Bros. and The Weinstein Company. The original movie title “The Butler” is a short film in the Warner Bros. library produced in 1916. Although similar movie titles are not uncommon in the movie industry, it is report that this isn’t the first title battle between the two companies. A judge recently found in favor of Warner Bros. for the name “The Butler.” Whatever The Weinstein Company decides to name the movie it is set to be a “hit” of epic historic proportion.
