Rachel Jeantel Talks Openly w/Piers Morgan About Trayvon & Being Ridiculed About Her Speech [Full Interview] Ms. Bels Tuesday, July 16, 2013 The Receipt, Tune In The star witness for the prosecution during the George Zimmerman trial, Rachel Jeantel, sat down with CNN’s Piers Morgan for an exclusive interview. The interview which aired on Monday night, was the first time Jeantel has spoken publicly about the trial since appearing on the witness stand. It was her appearance on the stand that sparked some backlash from the media and supporters for Trayvon Martin and Zimmerman. Many people ridiculed her because of the way she spoke and noticeably demeanor of frustration and aggravation presented on day one of her testimony. Despite her strong dialect and choice of words, many of us who tuned into the trial felt as though she was being herself and telling the truth. However, one of the jurors (B-37) appeared on Anderson Cooper’s 360 show yesterday stated that her opinion of Jeantel was that she didn’t seem credible. Apparently, several of the other jurors felt the same way. So, the question of whether or not the jurors could relate to Jeantel became apparent. Individuals who come from two different worlds, of course, would probably not understand each others dialect and slang. But, should that equate to Jeantel being a witness you couldn’t believe…NO! During the Piers Morgan interview, Jeantel talked about how she felt about the backlash on social media and the reason why she speaks the way she do. Candidly, she also explained the Trayvon she knew and his state of mind on the phone the night he was killed. Watch the two part interview below:
