Video: Jill Scott Slays “He Loves Me” @ Essence Fest 2013 + Set to Release ‘Lullaby’ Album for Babies Ms. Bels Monday, July 8, 2013 The Studio Every body knows…I LOVE me some Jill Scott. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to join the thousands of people who were in New Orleans for the Essence Festival. Jill Scott, along with many other artists, tore down the stages on Friday and Saturday. Per eyewitness reports, Maxwell, New Edition, Trey Songz, Keyshia Cole, and Charlie Wilson were some of the stand out performers. And of course, I heard Jill slayed her performance and had the crowd rocking the whole set. In case you missed the Essence Fest this year, and love Jill Scott as much as I do, check out her performance of “He Loves Me” below. Additionally, Essence.com reports that Jill will also release a new album this year. Surprisingly, the album titled “Brown Baby Lullabies” will cater to babies. She said she thought about the idea 4 years ago before the birth of her own son, Jett. The group of lullabies will help “encourage and nourish the spirit” she says. Parents who purchases the album will be able to just hit play and the child will go right off to sleep themselves. No word yet on when it will be released. This is going to be a lifesaver for most parents…especially the ones that do not know how to sing. Great idea Jill!
