PCAMThe prostate is the gland below a man’s bladder that produces fluid for semen. Prostate cancer is common among older men. It is rare in men younger than 40. Risk factors for developing prostate cancer include being over 65 years of age, family history, being African-American, and some genetic changes.

African-American men are 60 percent more likely to develop prostate cancer and are twice as likely to die from it as any other racial or ethnic groups nationwide. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and we at STACKS Mag encourage every male no matter your ethnicity to get checked. Although testing doesn’t show whether you actually have prostate cancer, it does signal prostate abnormality such as enlarged prostate or infections.
