Indiana Pacers Re-Signs Paul George To Multi-Year Contract admin Friday, September 27, 2013 The Game The Indiana Pacers signed guard/forward Paul George to a multi-year contract extension. George won the NBA’s Most Improved Player award last season and made his first All-Star appearance last season as a reserve. George was also named to the All-NBA third team and the All-Defensive second team last season. George averaged 17.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals last season, all were career highs. George played even better in the playoffs last season and was one the reasons why the Pacers took Miami Heat to 7 games in the Eastern Conference Finals. This off-season the Pacers resigned Forward David West, signed Free Agent Forward Chris Copeland, Guard C.J. Watson and acquired Forward Luis Scola in a trade from the Phoenix Suns. The Pacers have one of the deepest teams in the NBA and with Former All-Star Danny Granger returning from injury they should be a better team this season. Guards George Hill and Lance Stephenson both had career highs last season in points, rebounds, assists and steals. Stephenson will either return to the bench with Granger back or Granger will become the Pacers Sixth Man. The Heat are the favorites to win the Eastern Conference again this season and the Pacers are definitely still a threat to them. Article submitted by Abner Jackson, Content Writer for STACKS Magazine.
