Video: R&B Divas LA’s Claudette Ortiz Talks Homeless Rumors, & Struggle Of Raising Kids Alone Ms. Bels Wednesday, September 18, 2013 5-4-3-2-1, The Script, The Studio If you’ve paid attention to the weekly TV One show “R&B Divas LA”, then you’ll be familiar with Ms. Claudette Ortiz. She’s started in the music business at an early age, best known for her part in the group City High, but stepped away from it for years to be a wife and mother. Well, Claudette recently got her big break at another chance of stardom with R&B Divas LA. During the season, it was revealed that Claudette fell on some pretty hard times. She got a divorce and started raising her kids as a single parent. She was rumored to be homeless and had to live in a shelter in order to get government assistance. But, God has a plan for all of us and it looks like the songstress is starting to see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Right before the season ended, Claudette visited Hot 97 to discuss her family situation, homelessness, and what’s her plans now. It was an interesting conversation in that she kept it 100. She basically stated that while she was married she wasn’t the best at watching her finances. Luckily, however, she had enough of that hustlers spirit to invest in various business ventures so that she and her kids could maintain. Watch the interview: For young women who are mothers and are lacking a back up plan, it is very important to always have a Plan B. You never know when the father will leave and leave you stuck raising the kids. Claudette’s advice to manager your money properly is true. If possible, try to invest in real estate or other profitable businesses. Always put yourself in a position to where you won’t have to struggle. Kudos to Claudette and we wish her the best!
