Foundation, Inc T.R.U. Foundation founder, NaKesha Ward and her fiance celebrity rap star 2 Chainz was onsite to fellowship with the attendees and give more insight on the organization. Back in 2011, a close cousin of Ward’s topped the headlines after suffering a tragic death due to domestic violence. Korean Bowden lost her life to an abuser after receiving multiple stab wounds. Her abuser also committed heinous acts towards Bowden’s three daughters (ages 12, 9, and 2) which included rape and kidnapping. The devastating blow that was dealt to Ward’s family was one of the main reasons she established the T.R.U. Foundation. “After this tragedy, I felt my calling from God was to reach out to people in the community and make a difference in the lives of others.” In addition to the organization’s commitment to help victims of domestic violence, poverty and dismal education are other mission-driven areas the T.R.U. Foundation focuses on. To assist individuals in learning the necessary tools to create a better life, the T.R.U. Foundation provides career and money management related programs.
