NBA: Westbrook Returns and Leads Thunder to Victory admin Tuesday, November 5, 2013 Scoreboard, The Game Russell Westbrook returned from injury to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 103-96 victory against the Phoenix Suns. This was Westbrook first game since he was injured in the second game of the 2013 NBA Playoffs, six months ago. Westbrook returned with 21 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and shot a game high 14 free throws, making 11 of them. Star Player Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 33 points and 10 rebounds, making 10 out 19 field goals. Suns newcomer Eric Bledsoe who was acquired this off-season in a trade had a spectacular game, with 26 points, a career high 14 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Newcomer Gerald Green had 21 points, team high 8 rebounds, and made a impressive 5 out of 10 three pointers for the Suns. This wasn’t enough to defeat the Thunder, who have beaten Phoenix 11 straight times. Both teams have a 2-1 record and the Thunder should be a top four team now in the Western Conference with Westbrook returning. The Suns are off to great season with one of the youngest rosters in the league and a team with three new starters. Submitted by Abner Jackson III, Content Writer for STACKS Magazine.
