Mario Mims b.k.a Yo Gotti‘s long-awaited studio album is finally here. The 15-year independent grind for the Memphis native has paid off in an unique way. Known as a true advocate of the dope boy/street rap, Gotti has always maintained street credibility in and out the music game. But he’s signed to EPIC Records and now his music has the ability to reach broader audiences. So, does this mean he must change his tune? Does he need clean up his content? Uh…nope.  He’s still Yo Gotti.

 

There’s something to be said about a man that has waited this long to sign to a major label. He’s his own man. And that’s why many of his peers respect him.

 

On his new project I AM, gives his core fan base just what they wanted. That real sh-t. Although, Yo Gotti ventured out a little with the production, he’s done a good job at maintaining the integrity of his sound, his story, and what he stands for. Features on the album includes T.I., Jeezy, Rich Homie Quan, Meek Mill, J. Cole, Ne-Yo, Wale, Kendall Morgan, and Canei Finch. Production credits includes Metro Boomin, Honorable C-Note, The Youngstars, P-Lo, and others.
