Kobe shot a disappointing 2 out of 9 from the field, finishing with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 28 minutes. Kobe played in his first game this season since tearing his Achilles tendon in April and had a game high 8 turnovers. Amir Johnson help spoil Kobe return with a career-high 32 points, he had a game high 10 rebounds for the Raptors. Demar DeRozan had 26 points and a made a game high 10 free throws for the Raptors. Kyle Lowry scored 23 points and had a game high 8 assists for the Raptors. Nick Young came off the bench and led the Lakers with 19 points, the Lakers had 5 players in double figures all of them bench players. The Lakers starters combined to score 23 points, with Kobe scoring the majority of those points. The Lakers are 10-10 now and is currently in 10th place in the Western Conference. The Raptors improve to 7-12 after losing their previous 5 games in a row. The Raptors made headlines in the NBA before the game, trading second leading scorer Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings. Both teams combined to trade seven players, the Raptors acquired Guard Greivis Vasquez, Guard/Forward John Salmons, Forwards Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson.
