And such is the case with Phil Robertson (aka Uncle Phil) of the hit A&E show “Duck Dynasty”. News reports revealed that a lost video of Phil speaking on marriage popped up. In the footage,which was from a 2009 Georgia Sportsmen Ministry event, he shared his thoughts on marriage. “You wait ’til they get to be 20 years old. The only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket. You’ve got to marry these girls about 15 or 16; they’ll pick your ducks. “If you can find a nice, pretty country girl who can cook and carries her Bible, now there’s a woman. She might even be ugly, but if she cooks squirrels and dumplings, then that’s the woman you go after.” He also suggested that men eat at least six meals of the young bride-to-be before marrying her. SMH. After he was heavily criticized for the comments he made to GQ Magazine regarding homosexuality, the network suspended Phil but reverse the decision. Millions of people tune in to watch “Duck Dynasty” regardless of his racist, discriminatory, and womanizing beliefs. This definitely signifies what’s more important to us when watching television.
