Did Mona Scott-Young Steal ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Show Idea?; Lawsuit Asks for $50 Million admin Thursday, March 13, 2014 $1 Rumors, The Receipt, Tune In 2 Comments Mona Scott-Young Interesting… Word on the street is that television show producer, Mona Scott-Young, robbed another show pilot and came up with the idea for “Love & Hip Hop”. According to reports, 8th Wonder Entertainment, Nicki Lum-Davis, and Trisha Lum filed papers on March 10th and are suing Mona Scott-Young for $50 million. The claims against the reality show mogul are for fraud, breach of contract, and breach of confidence. The plaintiffs says that they developed a show called “Hip Hop Wives” and shopped it to VH1. “Hip Hop Wives”, if you may remember, included Tashera Simmons (DMX’s ex-wife), Chrissy Lampkin (Jim Jones’ fiance), Mashonda Tifere (ex-wife of Swizz Beatz), and Debbie Lorenzo, Irv Gotti’s ex-wife. VH1 and Scott-Young supposedly took the HHW idea, reworked it, and created “Love & Hip Hop”. The LLH franchise (New York and Atlanta) has went on to become top-rated reality show franchises across all cable networks. VH1 nor Scott-Young has commented on the matter as of yet.
