Several tastemakers congregated over the weekend in the Big Apple to view the premiere of a new docu-series focused on one of the nation’s hottest hip-hop radio stations.
The Gotham Comedy Club was the backdrop for an evening of comedy, mix and mingling, and “This is Hot 97“. The new docu-series is the latest projects for VH1 and Mona Scott-Young‘s Monami Entertainment. The program, which airs on Monday, March 31 at 10:30PM ET/PT, focuses on the daily operations of Hot 97.
Ebro Darden, Angie Martinez, Miss Info, Paul Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds, Laura Stylez, and DJ Camilo were in at the event. According to sources, the night began with a comedy bit by station comedian, Cipha Sounds and comedian Brooklyn Mike. Shortly after, Mona Scott-Young gave a few remarks about the show and cast. Members of the 350+ audience were given the opportunity to ask the cast questions after an exclusive premiere of the first two episodes.
Additional attendees included Mack Wilds, Jennifer Williams (“Basketball Wives”), Chef Roble and Tahiry Jose (“Love & Hip Hop NY”). Music was provided by Hot 97’s own DJ Spynfo.
