HomeFeature#OnTheBlock: @KoreStacks …Gay DMV Rapper Out to Prove That Artistry Outweighs All Ms. Bels Friday, April 11, 2014 Feature, Music, Studio Xclusive, The Studio, The Vault Kore Stacks is an indie rapper trying to make his mark on the industry. As many others, he has the charisma, image, and talent to be taken seriously. However, there’s one subtle detail about Kore that could potentially hinder him from becoming the next household name. Not to beat around the bush with it, Kore Stacks is an openly gay rapper. If you met him, you’d think otherwise because he doesn’t possess any of the stereotypes. Born and raised in D.C., it is evident that the grittiness of the street life created a man with a tough interior and exterior. And when it comes to his lyrical talent, Kore’s music is hardcore as well. Recently, I met up with Kore Stacks while shooting a video for “Pull It”. I got the chance to learn more about his music and how he plans to minimize his sexuality in order to exploit his talent. He also shared his thoughts on a few current events and Atlanta rapper Young Thug’s gay controversy. According to Kore, he’s currently putting the final touches on an upcoming mixtape. He says he doesn’t have a preference on who he works with on the project, but his ultimate wish is to lace a track with his favorite rapper, Lola Monroe. His hopes are for people to just focus on the talent and that is all. Kore is sure that rap fans will not be disappointed.
