After surveying 1000 women, ages 35-44, Shoebuy.com acquired some interesting statistics around the love of shoes.  Shoebuy is an online retailer of shoes, clothing, and accessories. In April of this year, the retailer conducted a national survey of their customer base. The company were surprised at the responses given.

Peep these stats…

  • 1 in 5 women admitted to being more turned on by a pair of new shoes than by their significant others
  • 82% admitted to owning a pair of knock-off shoes and/or accessories
  • 1 in 4 women says that they will not take off their heels no matter how painful they are; 10% says they would take aspirin in order to stay in their heels
  • 50% admitted to having judged others based on their shoes
  • 1 in 2 single women say they do not wear heels
  • 1 in 3 women say they will ditch their heels for flats on a first date to avoid being taller than the other person

From a cost perspective, Shoebuy found out the following responses to be interesting as well.

  • 1 in 2 women stated that lie to their mates about the price they pay for shoes and/or accessories
  • 30 percent of women purchase 4-7 pairs of shoes per year. That comes to an average of nearly 500 over a lifetime
  • Married women are more likely to spend over $100 on a pair of shoes than divorced women are

Ladies, do you agree with these findings?  Can a pair of shoes truly provide a high-level of gratification or satisfaction?
