Openly Gay Draft Pick Sparks Fire from Kiss

Missouri defensive end Michael Sam made history being the first openly gay NFL player. Sam was a seventh round draft pick by the St. Louis Rams and sparked major media buzz after photos of him hugging and kissing his boyfriend went viral. The photo received mixed emotions from several people. Some felt it was a symbol of how far the world has come and for others it was just pure disrespect.

Those that were offended by the viral photo took to twitter and expressed their displeasure for what they saw. A particular tweet came from Miami Dolphins cornerback Don Jones who was fined a large amount and excused from team events for his twitter comments. Ole Miss Guard Marshall Henderson was another person to express his feelings about the kiss and had over 67,000 followers to also respond.
