Wiggins played one year at the University of Kansas and set the Kansas freshman record by scoring 597 points. The Milwaukee Bucks selected freshman small forward Jabari Parker from Duke University with the number two overall pick. Parker was the ACC Freshman of the Year and set the Duke freshman record with 670 points. The Philadelphia 76ers selected freshmen center Joel Embiid from University of Kansas with the number three overall pick and Embiid was selected the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The Orlando Magic selected freshmen forward Aaron Gordon with the number four overall pick and Gordon set a University of Arizona freshman record with 303 rebounds. With the number five overall pick, the Utah Jazz selected 18-year-old guard Dante Exum from Australia. The Boston Celtics selected sophomore point guard Marcus Smart with the number six overall pick from Oklahoma State University. The Los Angeles Lakers selected freshman power forward Julius Randle with the number seven overall pick. Randle led the University of Kentucky to the Final Four and was selected the SEC Freshman of the Year. The Miami Heat acquired UConn point guard Shabazz Napier with a trade from Charlotte Hornets. Napier led the Huskies in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals and led UConn to the 2014 National championship. Napier addresses the Heat need a point guard and could possibly be Miami’s starting point guard.
