Lamar Odom Signs Non-Guarantee Deal with Knicks

It’s a good week for Lamar Odom. The former NBA star is putting the pieces of his life together and Phil Jackson has decided to help him along the way. 

Jackson recently announced that Odom has entered into a non-guarantee deal with the New York Knicks. On Monday, Odom arrived at the Knicks training facility to begin the process of proving that he is still the outstanding ball player he was once known as.

“He’s coming to town this week,” Jackson said in his first comments on Odom. “We know he’s a really good basketball player.

“He wants to put himself back together, and he has a chance to do that by having the whole summer to work at it and getting himself back in basketball condition to play. He told me that’s what he wants to do. Having a relationship with him. It’s a pretty good risk-reward situation for us.’’

While still playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, Odom entered the reality show circuit courtesy of his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian. The additional spotlight proved to be a bit stressful for Odom, which soon led him into a downward spiral into alleged substance abuse.

Although Jackson is somewhat confident that Odom will regain his glory as a basketball player, The Post reports that the non-guaranteed deal’s mathematical trade filler in case things don’t work out with Odom.
