The Associated Press asked this question, “WHERE’S ROBIN THICKE’S FANS AT?!”  Well, we are wondering the same thing. Where are they?

Thicke’s recent release of his “pleading to get my baby back” album, Paula turned out to be an #EpicFail. In the U.S., Paula only sold 24,000 copies the first week. In Canada, the album only sold 550 copies. WTH!

“In some ways Robin Thicke had an incredible year in 2013 … but I think there can be a downside to that fame overload. You can be too famous, too big,” Rolling Stone senior editor Simon Vozick-Levinson said Wednesday. “There was a backlash to `Blurred Lines,’ and I think we’re really seeing the aftermath of that backlash play out.”

Many believed the backlash from his mega-hit “Blurred Lines” – and the media-worthy incidents between him and his estranged-wife Paula Patton – caused fans to grow tired of him.

On Paula, Thicke also returned to his R&B roots. Could this have had an impact on record sales, especially with his mainstream fans?

Fortunately, Thicke has been through an up-and-down spiral most of his career. Remember, the public didn’t gravitate to his music when he released A Beautiful World in 2002. But, in 2006, he made a great statement with The Evolution of Robin Thicke.  So, this may just be another moment in his career where he’s just not popping.

Robin Thicke, no worries…we’re sure you’ll be back on top in no time!
