Each year, the BET Awards rank high in attendance and viewership according to analysts. But, did you know that the price for those that attend can cost as much as a ticket to see a Mayweather fight?
According to BET estimates and Staple Center assessments, the starting cost for BET Experience attendees was $4,395 this year.
The “experience” this year in Los Angeles didn’t just include a ticket to the awards show. In fact, that price tag encompassed a three-day long music and entertainment festival full of parties, movie screenings, concerts and more.
Here’s a list of what those bands (aka “money”) gained you access to:
- 2014 BET Awards show
- VIP at the Conga Room
- Performances at L.A. Live
- Panel discussions on celebrity, health and wellness featuring Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson and Nikki Giovanni
- BETX Dance Competition
- BETX Film Festival
- Concerts at the Staples Center (all 3 nights)
- Performances at Club Nokia (all 3 nights)
Of course, there were budget-minded individuals in L.A. over the weekend that didn’t choose the VIP/All-Access route. But in case you are planning to attend next year’s festivities and aren’t privy to a “hook up,” we advise you to start saving those stacks now.
