Congrats to Keke Palmer!  While making major moves with her own talk show, now she’s making another power move on New York’s Broadway.

According to the AP, Palmer has confirmed that she will be Broadway’s first African-American Cinderella. Starting September 9th, Palmer will take on her role in “Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella“.

“It’s honestly one of those things that I can’t believe is really happening,” Palmer said by phone Friday from her Los Angeles home. “I’m very excited. Very excited and nervous as well – a bunch of feelings all at once.”

The 21-year-old will use her careers worth of expertise in acting to transform into one of pop culture’s beloved storybook characters.

Palmer has had numerous acting gigs such as “Akeelah and the Bee” and “Barbershop 2: Back in Business”. She also is a singer and songwriter who released “So Cool” in 2007 and a self-titled EP in 2012.
