Catcher Salvador Perez walk-off hit in the bottom 12th was the game-winning hit. The Royals were down 7-3 after 6 innings and scored three runs in the 8th inning and one run in 9th inning that sent game into extra innings. A’s First Baseman Albert Callaspo batted in a run in the top of the 12th inning that gave the A’s an 8-7 lead. Royals First Baseman Eric Hosmer hit a triple to start off the 12th inning and Shortstop Christian Colon single tied the game for the Royals. The Royals won their wild-card game and will go on the road to face the Los Angeles Angels in best of five series. The Royals and A’s definitely put on a show the last five innings of the game and gave fans a memorable season ending game. The playoffs starts today and the Royals have a lot of momentum going into the playoffs now. The Angels finished with the best record in MLB this season and the Royals will have to bring it every game if they wish to advance to the ALCS. Photo Credit: ABC News
