Sacramento Kings Center DeMarcus Cousins was named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for games played November 17th-23rd. Cousins help lead the Kings to a 2-1 record with wins against the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves. Cousins recorded his best game against Minnesota with 31 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks in a 113-101 victory. In a 106-100 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, Cousins had 24 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Cousins had 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists in a 103-88 victory against the Bulls.
Cousins is averaging 23.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, making 51.9% of his field-goals, all career-highs for Cousins. The Kings are 8-5 with the seventh best record in the Western Conference. Cousins has recorded six double-doubles in a row and has 10 for the season. Cousins is sixth in the league in scoring and leading the league in rebounds by a slim margin. If Cousins continues to play like this he should be selected to appear in his first NBA All-Star Game.
