Zaha Hadid, a Pritzker Prize award-winning architect, is in contract now to design 90-meter yachts. In collaboration with shipbuilders Blohm + Voss, Hadid will create a collection of yachts called Unique Circle Yachts. Each boat will be based around its 128m prototype and will aesthetically contain fluidity and underwater ecosystems. “As a dynamic object that moves in dynamic environments, the design of a yacht must incorporate additional parameters beyond those for architecture – which all become more extreme in water,” says Hadid. “Each yacht is an engineered platform that integrates specific hydrodynamic and structural demands together with the highest levels of comfort, spatial quality and safety.” According to Forbes, JAZZ is the first of the five yachts to be technically specified and detailed by Blohm + Voss’s naval architects. Owners of each yacht will be able to specify the layout and customize other exterior and interior requests. The yachts have a maximum speed of 16.0 knots, with a cruising speed of 14.0 knots.
